Tony was friendly, helpful, and everything went smoothly for our first ever dumpster. He made it all so easy!
From the Angel Oak to the new subdivisions off Maybank Highway, we rent roll-off dumpsters across John's Island. Four sizes plus a flatbed.
John's Island is big and still half rural, from the new subdivisions off Maybank Highway to the farmland near the Angel Oak. We cover all of it.
The 13 handles most home and yard projects out here. For a build or a big clearing job, step up to the 17 or 22, and put dirt in the 7-yard.
We're out across John's Island regularly, from the Maybank Highway corridor, Fenwick Hall, and St. Johns Woods.
Johns Island runs from farm property to new subdivisions, and the work splits the same way. Houses take residential rentals for remodels and cleanouts. Builders and land crews out here use commercial dumpsters and swap them through a job.
There is a lot of land work on the island, so brush and limbs are a steady part of it and belong in a yard-waste dumpster. Clearing an older property is usually a junk-removal rental held for a few days.
On John's Island the 13 covers most house and yard jobs, a land-clearing or new build calls for the 17 or 22, and dirt and dense debris go in the 7-yard.
Order online or call Tony, and mention what the drive looks like. Island drops get planned before the truck leaves the yard.
We bring it to your spot in John's Island and set it where you want it. You don't need to be home. Keep it 1 to 30 days.
Call when it's loaded and we haul it, disposal included. Brush jobs that fill fast get a swap.
On John's Island it is often land-clearing brush, build debris, and household junk, all good. Concrete, dirt, and roofing go in the 7-yard, and we cannot take batteries, chemicals, or electronics. See the full list of what goes in
Johns Island gives you more room to work with than most of the county. Lots run bigger, driveways run longer, and there's usually a spot for a dumpster well off the road. The limits are overhead and underfoot. Live oaks hang low over a lot of these drives, and a loaded truck needs clearance to set a dumpster down and pick it back up. After a wet stretch, a dirt or gravel drive can go soft enough that we'd rather stage the dumpster closer to hard surface.
Work out here skews rural. Land clearing, barn and outbuilding cleanouts, tree and brush work, and the occasional entire-property cleanout. That means a lot of yard debris, which fills a dumpster faster by volume than weight. Tell us what your drive looks like and we'll sort the spot before we show up.
John's Island jobs split between new construction on former farmland and clear-outs on properties that have held decades of accumulation. Long gravel drives and acreage change the questions: it is less about whether a container fits and more about where on the land it should go. Tony asks about the drive before the truck rolls, so island deliveries stay simple. More about Family Trash.
Most of Johns Island is unincorporated Charleston County, so county ordinances apply directly. Dumping on public or private land is barred under County Ordinance #1115, Section 5-A, and letting building or demolition material pile up on an occupied lot is a declared nuisance under Ordinance #1227. The county runs an enforcement officer and a report line at (843) 202-7200. A container on the property during the job keeps debris off the dirt and off that list.
There is no county facility on the island. The closest staffed convenience center is Signal Point Road on James Island, Charleston County residency proof and photo ID required. Bees Ferry Landfill in West Ashley takes no construction or demolition debris from private haulers; the compost facility there takes yard waste at $59 a ton, one ton per load.
| The load | County route | The rental |
|---|---|---|
| Land-clearing brush | $59 a ton at the Bees Ferry compost scale, one-ton cap, off-island. | A yard-waste container filled at your own pace. |
| Barn or outbuilding tear-down | Bees Ferry won’t take it from a private hauler. | A 17 or 22-yard set on the property. |
| Decades of accumulation | Signal Point center, pickup loads only, residency proof at the gate. | A junk-removal rental held as long as the clearing takes. |

The census files Johns Island under unincorporated Charleston County rather than as its own town, so there is no city hall, no municipal trash line, and no housing table to quote. ZIP codes 29455 and 29457 cover the island, and the lots run from subdivision parcels off Maybank Highway to farm acreage out past the Angel Oak.
For garbage service, island households contract their own haulers. For project debris, the county options are the short list above; a container on the property covers what they don’t.
We cover John's Island and the towns right around it.
Property clear-outs out here run big, and the 17 or 22 suits a barn or a full outbuilding. For a single room or garage the 13-yard still does it, and dirt, sod, or concrete from site work goes in the 7-yard. Not sure? Use the size guide.
On acreage the placement question is the approach, not the spot. A long gravel drive is usually fine when it is firm; after heavy rain, soft ground stops a loaded truck. Describe the drive and we will tell you honestly whether the day works.
Yes. Brush, limbs, furniture, and general remodeling debris are all fine in a John's Island rental. Heavy material like concrete, dirt, and roofing goes in the low 7-yard, and we cannot take batteries, chemicals, or electronics. See the full list of what goes in.
Acreage does not cost extra. A John's Island drop is the same flat price whether the container sits by the road or back by the barn. It is one flat price with delivery, pickup, and disposal included, and you see it before you book. Here is how pricing works.
Give rural drops a little lead time so we can put your stop on the right run. If the property is gated or the drive is easy to miss from the road, say so when you book.
Along with John's Island, we deliver to West Ashley, James Island, Folly Beach, Ravenel, and the neighborhoods in between. Same flat rate on the island as anywhere else on the route. See every town we cover.
Yes. John's Island is one stop in Charleston County, and we also run Charleston, Mount Pleasant, North Charleston and the towns around them. Browse the full service area.
We run John's Island out of our yard on Folly Road on James Island, one island over. Tony knows which roads out here carry a loaded truck comfortably, which matters more than mileage does.
No. The county’s nearest staffed drop-off is Signal Point Road on James Island, residency proof and photo ID required, and the county landfill in West Ashley takes no renovation debris from private haulers. On the island, the working options are a private hauler or a rented container.
County code treats accumulated building and demolition material on an occupied lot as a declared nuisance (Ordinance #1227) and bars dumping outright (Ordinance #1115, Section 5-A). Enforcement runs through (843) 202-7200. Debris that goes from the job into a container never reaches that point.
